02What We Build

Whatever the building, it gets residence-level care.

Foundation, framing, roofing, and envelope all matter — even on a “simple” outbuilding. We treat every structure as a system, so it stays dry, solid, and functional for the long haul.

Planning something bigger? We also handle additions, timber frame structures, and metal roofing across Grey & Bruce County.

TYPE 01

Detached & attached garages

Practical layouts, durable finishes, clean execution. Single-bay to oversized doubles, matched to your house or built as a statement of its own — with slabs, doors, and details that survive Grey-Bruce winters.

+ Insulated & heated options for year-round use + Metal roofing & siding that shrugs off lake-effect snow + Style-matched to the home, or deliberately distinct

TYPE 02

Shops & workshops

Built for year-round comfort, space, and usability. Big clear spans, tall doors, bright lighting, and floors ready for real work — insulated and detailed so the shop is usable in February, not just July.

Bright plywood-lined workshop interior with wide concrete floor
TYPE 03

Storage & utility buildings

Straightforward builds with attention to the details that prevent problems later — drainage, ventilation, and cladding done right, so equipment, vehicles, and gear stay dry through every season.

+ Proper site prep & drainage before anything goes up + Ventilation detailing that prevents condensation + Sized for today with room for what’s next

03How We Build

Slab to roof, one standard.

Most garage problems — settling or heaving slabs, damp interiors, rotting components, wildlife moving in — start with corners cut early. We do the unglamorous stages properly so the finished building stays that way.

01

Foundations & slabs

Footings, proper drainage, and slabs poured to spec — the base everything else depends on.

02

Framing & structure

Straight walls, engineered trusses, clean framing — the bones that keep doors sealing and roofs true for decades.

03

Envelope & detailing

Air-sealing, flashing, and moisture management borrowed straight from our high-performance home builds.

04

Roof & cladding

Metal roofing and siding detailed for lake-effect snow and wind off the water — because the building lives outside.

05Garage & Outbuilding FAQ

Straight answers before you build.

Q1Can you build insulated or heated garages?+
Yes — insulated and heated garages and shops are a specialty. We detail the envelope the same way we do on a house: air-sealing, insulation continuity, and moisture management, so the space is comfortable year-round without burning money on heat.
Q2Do you handle slabs and foundations?+
Yes. Site prep, drainage, footings, foundation walls, and slabs are all part of the build — one project, one standard, no coordination gaps between “the concrete guys” and “the framers.”
Q3Can you match the style of my home?+
Absolutely. Rooflines, siding, trim, and colours can be matched so the new building looks like it was always there — or we can go deliberately different, like a timber-accented or board-and-batten look. See recent work for both approaches.
Q4Do I need a permit and drawings?+
Most garages and outbuildings in Grey-Bruce need a building permit, and anything with a slab and trusses benefits from proper drawings. We handle the drawings, engineering, and permit process as part of the project — you don’t chase paperwork.
Q5Can you build through winter?+
Yes — we build year-round. Foundations are best poured before deep frost, but framing, cladding, and interior work continue right through the season. Booking a winter build often means an earlier start than waiting for the spring rush.
